Brookhouse Clough, Rainow, about 1910

Parts of Brookhouse date back to the Elizabethan period, though the present farmhouse is 17th century. Two cotton spinning mills were built in the woods here, one in 1790 and one in 1805. Nothing remains of these, and there is no public access to the site.
