Kerridge Quarries, 1938
At one time, there were quarries on the east side of Kerridge Hill, as well
as on the west where the quarries remain today. George Longden's historical
study (see
the Documents section) uses the name Kerridge quarries for those on the
east side, but estimates that these were abandoned before the end of
the 19th century, so the precise location of the quarry in this image
remains a mystery.
