Five Ash Cottages

Still standing, Five Ashes cottages were built around 1848 beside two quarries on Windmill Lane in Kerridge. The area was originally farmland before the digging of the quarries, and the cottages first housed farm workers and then quarry workers. The photograph was taken in around 1910.
